Khoi Tech takes Centre Stage at JSE Launch of Market Access Platform

Khoi Tech takes Centre Stage at JSE as Proudly South African Launches Market Access Platform

Sandton, 20 August 2025: The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) was abuzz on Monday 18 August as Proudly South African unveiled its Market Access Platform (MAP) – a groundbreaking digital marketplace designed to connect small businesses with big corporates.

Among the standout stories was Soweto born tech disruptor Khoi Tech, which took centre stage as a flagship example of the power of local innovation meeting market opportunity. Originally developed by South African Breweries (SAB), the MAP platform has now been officially handed over to Proudly South African to scale nationally. The platform is set to break down barriers for SMMEs, opening new opportunities for procurement, partnerships, and growth.

“Our investment in local sourcing is an investment in the fabric of our nation’s economy. By handing over the MAP platform to Proudly South African, we are ensuring that more businesses can benefit, creating homegrown success stories like Khoi Tech,” said Ms Zoleka Lisa, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at SAB.

Khoi Tech: From Soweto to the JSE Stage

Khoi Tech CEO Seati Moloi described the company’s journey from a Soweto start-up to a nationally recognised innovator. With products such as the Khoi Afriwatch smartwatch and Khoi Afripods wireless earphones listed on both the MAP B2B platform and the Proudly SA e-commerce store, Khoi Tech has unlocked vital new sales channels and corporate partnerships.

“These platforms have been a game changer,” Moloi said. “They gave us visibility into the corporate sector, driving not just sales but meaningful conversations with large companies about procurement and partnerships. This is the scale every SMME strives for.”

The company showcased its locally engineered wearable tech, demonstrating applications across health, fitness, and corporate wellness underscoring its role as a rising player in South Africa’s tech landscape.

A Collective Vision for Growth

The event was hosted by the JSE’s Sifiso Tshabalala, with Proudly South African CEO Eustace Mashimbye and CMO Happy Ngidi Khumalo also in attendance.

Mashimbye hailed the MAP platform as “a sustainable pipeline that transforms small businesses into supply chain-ready partners for big corporates. Khoi Tech is proof that South African innovation is world-class and it just needs the right platform to be seen and to soar.”

Looking Ahead

The symbolic setting of the JSE was not lost on attendees. The presence of Khoi Tech at Africa’s largest capital market signalled the potential for SMMEs to grow beyond the township economy into listed companies of tomorrow. The collaboration between SAB, Proudly South African, and Khoi Tech represents more than an event launch. It is a bold statement: South Africa’s future growth lies in backing local innovators and giving them access to markets at scale.
